Wild about wildlife is how I would describe myself when it comes to my art. My style is painterly realism. I am self- taught and believe an education in art is good to have but does not necessarily make a good artist. Like music it comes from the heart.
I try to use my own photos as reference whenever I can and often combine many photos in the same painting. I paint in many mediums. Scratchboard is my choice for detailed fur. Occasionally I turn to pyrography, if I want a certain rich brown sepia look. Mostly I use acrylic gouache, which dries to soft matt finish. I often mix many mediums in the same piece.
Hope you enjoy my work!
