Members of the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association (CVAA) enjoy the advantage of being connected to a group of people with similar interests who meet on a regular basis. Our members include both professional and amateur artists.

Benefits of being a Member

• Monthly meetings where you can meet other artists, hear the current art news and join in enriching activities. Two of these meetings, in December and June, are pot-luck social events.
• The opportunity to exhibit in our twice-yearly group shows.
• Receive news and updates via our e-mail newsletter.
• Attend art workshops that are offered to our members only.
• Have the opportunity to volunteer as a gallery-sitter and engage with the general public about the shows hung in the gallery
• Volunteer to assist in hanging one of our group shows to learn what goes into hanging a show.
• Get a 10% discount on purchases at some of the art stores in Chilliwack.
• Hear about other art opportunities within the community.

The O’Connor Group Gallery:

The CVAA is extremely lucky to operate this beautiful gallery in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. It is run by our members who volunteer to do one gallery-sitting shift of two and a half hours every month. Administrative tasks are undertaken by the CVAA Executive and member volunteers.

Would like to join us?

The CVAA meets at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of every month from September to June. Our meetings are held in the gallery ( or other adjacent meeting rooms) at the Cultural Centre on Corbould Street.

Membership is $40.00 a year, renewable each January.

You may pay by e-transfer ( preferred) at treasurercvaa@gmail.com or by cash or cheque in person at a meeting . You may also return your membership form and payment by putting it in a sealed envelope marked c/o CVAA Treasurer and taking it to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Office. ( Ask at the Box Office where the Chilliwack Cultural Centre office is.
