About Us
The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association is a not-for-profit organization of local artists whose mission is:
“to support awareness and appreciation of the Visual Arts in our Community”.
The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association curates the O’Connor Group Art Gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. We organize workshops for (and by) members; we send out a Call For Artists, we select the exhibitors and create a 2-year exhibition schedule for the selected artists; we provide volunteer gallery sitters during opening hours. The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization of local artists working and exhibiting together to encourage the appreciation of the visual arts in the community.
Our members represent various media: sculpture, glass, painting, printmaking, woodturning, multimedia, textiles, pottery, and photography. Our members share information to educate, raise awareness and stimulate creativity; they exhibit their work twice a year at the O’Connor Group Art Gallery and participate in cultural events in the community. The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association meetings are at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of every month except July and August. Our meetings are held in the O’Connor Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre on Corbould Street. Prospective members and visitors are welcome at these meetings.
