The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association (CVAA) is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Chilliwack and the surrounding Fraser Valley. Our diverse membership includes local artists working in a wide range of mediums, such as sculpture, painting, glass, printmaking, woodturning, multimedia, textiles, pottery, photography, and digital art.
As a community-focused group, we aim to inspire creativity, share knowledge, and elevate the profile of the visual arts in our region. Through regular meetings, collaborations, and artistic endeavors, we provide a supportive space for artists to connect, learn, and grow together.
The CVAA curates the Odlum Brown Art Gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, organizing an exciting two-year exhibition schedule that showcases selected works from talented artists. We coordinate workshops for and by our members, issue Calls for Artists, and provide gallery sitters to ensure the smooth operation of our exhibits.
Twice a year, CVAA members have the opportunity to display their work in the Odlum Brown Art Gallery and participate in community cultural events. Beyond exhibitions, we collaborate with local charities to support meaningful causes through art, further enriching the connection between the arts and our community.
To help our artists thrive, we actively promote their solo shows and strengthen their online presence by sharing their work on social media platforms.
The CVAA meets on the first Tuesday of every month (excluding July and August) at 7 PM in the Odlum Brown Art Gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, located on Corbould Street. We welcome prospective members and visitors to join us, share ideas, and explore the vibrant world of visual arts.
Let’s celebrate and support the arts together.
