I love the simplicity of the process using recycled organic materials like fabrics and turn them into (outdoor) sculptures. It’s is liberating and rewarding to shape without pattern and let the material lead the way and using basic tools like wire, foil, simple painting techniques to give it that splash of color.
Apart from creating ‘just for me’ the joy also lies in helping others to discover that we can all be creative, in whatever shape or form that might be. Shake off the feeling of ‘colouring between the lines’ and surrender to the movements of the materials.
I work from my studio in Chilliwack, BC where I also host workshops. The workshops are open to everyone, no (creative) experience needed, just a feeling of wanting to do something creative…
